Agenda

SYNERGY 2009

"Working Together to secure the future"

If we focus on making our customers successful,

we will become successful by default.”

The agenda of this years user conference will be focusing on helping Alliance members prosper through the upcoming economic turmoil.  There will be five key areas that we will focus on:

Opportunity:  Here we will quickly scan the economic landscape and predict several future economic scenarios.  From that, we want to review the various markets served by the Alliance and provide insights into new market opportunities.  Some existing Alliance members will be presenting opportunities in different market modes (LTL, Air), geographies (i.e. Mexico, Canada) as well as non-automotive opportunities that are available to attending Alliance members.   At the end of these sessions, participants will have a framework for their new marketing plan they can take back to their businesses and implement.

Integrity:  The Alliance has grown significantly over the past several years and issues of performance, cash flow and back-selling are causing periodic problems among some members.  In the past, when the Alliance was smaller, it was easier to self-regulate.  However, we realize that we must establish some integrity standards in terms of the quality of work performed, the speed at which payments are made, the legality of people posting loads (proper authorities and insurance), and the appropriate arbitration of complaints.  At the end of this session, participants will see the new programs in place to address these issues and gain a better sense of confidence when trading within the Alliance circles.

Productivity:  This will be a two-pronged approach by facilitating two break-out sessions.  One session will focus on Operational creativity and productivity using the AlliancePro system.  This will include a review of various means of automation, communication and productivity measurement.  The other session will focus on the wealth of management reporting available in the AlliancePro system and how to use this information to re-position your business.  A set of industry numbers will also be presented so users can compare the productivity of their company against the industry standards.  At the end of this session, participants will have productivity ideas and strategies they can take back to their businesses and implement.

People:  The Alliance is made up of some amazing, forward-thinking, creative people.  And many of the best minds in the Alliance will be at the conference.  In the new economy, knowledge advantage wins, labor advantage loses.  There is power in numbers and we all have witnessed this “power” when we use the Alliance to grow our business.  We will be facilitating a “power speed networking” session where participants will get an opportunity to network with everyone in the room in 2 minutes or less.  At the end of this session, participants will have a better understanding of the considerable intelligence and skill level of the members of the Alliance as well as the various products and services we offer each other.

Rewards:  The final event of the weekend is our annual awards night where we congratulate the companies who excel within the Alliance.  The level of excellence has increased each year since we started awarding companies for their great performance results.  Each year the competition gets tougher as more companies implement productivity improvements within their respective organizations.  Who will be on the winner’s podium this year?  Just think of the great strategies you can learn from this conference that can help you reach the podium next year!

The session will end with Ben Bauman, President of Bolt Express discussing exciting new opportunities in their respective markets.  They are looking to share these opportunities with quality Alliance partners and they are seeking to improve their existing business relationships and build new business relationships with Alliance members.

 _________________________________________

Then Stuart Sutton will share a presentation on how to keep “your company name” on the top of “your customers” mind (Top of Mind).  Strategies on how to tell your customers about the great things you do for them.    Our members recognize that innovation is not limited to one area. It may include:

  • new or improved products
  • more efficient processes
  • new delivery mechanisms
  • customer service strategies
  • new business models.

Whatever the innovation, our members know it involves creating or improving resources, processes or services to drive fundamental shifts in a business - for more growth.  At the end of this session, attendees will have a framework for developing their marketing plan for 2009.
